African Library Project
On Wednesday, the founder of the African Library Project, Chris Bradshaw, came to our school to talk about how she got the project started and the impact our donations have on the local communities there!
The assembly made a big impact on four of our 7th graders - Sutton, Ashley, Taylor and Ellie. They were inspired by the talk and later that day, went door to door in their neighborhood asking for donations. They got 116 books! This is over 10% of our goal, just in one day!
The African Library Project (www.africanlibraryproject.org/
) is an organization that finds schools in Africa that have no books and matches them up with schools and communities who are willing to donate.
This is the 3rd year St. Matthews has worked with this organization and we are currently asking for donations for a school in Ghana. Donations can be made in the bins near the entrance or to the library directly.
